GREEN LAKE (March 19, 2013)--Three people died when the sport utility vehicle in which they were riding slammed head-on into a pickup truck and burst into flames southeast of Victoria.
The crash happened at around 2 p.m. Monday on two-lane Texas Route 185 near Green Lake.
Trooper Gerald Bryant of the Texas department of Public Safety said the SUV veered into the oncoming lane for an unknown reason and slammed into the truck, bursting into flames and coming to rest in a ditch.
The three occupants were burned beyond recognition.
Their bodies were taken to the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office for identification.
The pickup truck flipped on its right side.
The two occupants were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
