PARIS (August 13, 2014) One person died Wednesday in a fire at a trailer sales lot in Paris.
The fire broke out shortly before noon Wednesday inside the PJ Trailers building in Paris.
A cutting torch is believed to have caused a flash explosion, igniting a fire that took area firefighters more than two hours to control, Fire Chief Larry Wright said.
Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass said no other injuries were reported.
The identity of the person who was killed was being withheld until relatives could be notified, Cass said.
The state and Paris fire marshals are investigating and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has been contacted.
