WACO (October 14, 2013)-Fire heavily damaged a North Waco home Sunday night and displaced the residents, but no one was injured.
Waco Assistant Fire Chief D.C. Yeager said units were sent at around 7:40 p.m. Sunday to the house at 806 North. 24th St.
Smoke and flames were coming from the front and one side of the house when the first firefighters arrived.
Yeager said it took firefighters about 10 minutes to bring the fire under control.
At first firefighters weren't sure if anyone was inside, but after an initial search discovered the house was not occupied at the time.
Yeager said the fire heavily damaged the house, but no one was hurt.
The residents were displaced as a result and were staying with relatives, he said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Monday morning.
