LAKE BELTON (February 14, 2013)—A fire Thursday afternoon fire at Lake Belton destroyed a boat, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters from Morgan's Point were sent just before 1 p.m. to an area of the lake close to Frank's Marina where they found the boat engulfed in flame.
Firefighters used water they pumped from the lake to douse the flames, but they could not save the boat.
There was speculation the fire might have been caused by flames that spread from a controlled burn, but one firefighter discounted the possibility.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
