ROBERTSON COUNTY (April 11, 2014) Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed a home Thursday night in Robertson County south of Hearne.
The fire was reported at around 7 p.m. Thursday in the 10300 block of River Ridge Drive.
Neighbors said they heard a loud explosion before flames engulfed the house, KBTX-TV reported.
The residents escaped safely, and could only watch as the second floor of the two-story house collapsed.
Eventually the house burned to the ground, KBTX reported.
The home was in a heavily wooded area and the fire spread to neighboring property, but firefighters put out those flames before they could do any more damage.
No one was hurt.
The American Red Cross was assisting the family Friday.
