Fire Forces Evacuation Of Texas Hotel

GRAND PRAIRIE (January 7, 2013)--Two guests at a Dallas-area suites hotel were treated early Monday for non-life threatening injuries after a fire broke out in a corner room.

Grand Prairie firefighters responded early Monday to the fire at a Budget Suites of America.

Authorities are trying to determine what started the fire in a downstairs room.

Fire Chief Robert Fite says an elderly woman suffered smoke inhalation and was stable after being transported to a hospital.

Fite said a second elderly woman was treated at the scene for stress-related issues and she did not require hospitalization.

The rest of the guests at the three-story complex were safely evacuated.
