Five People Homeless After Car Crashes Into Apartment

TEMPLE (January 12, 2014) Five people are homeless after a driver crashed into his apartment Sunday afternoon.

According to Temple Fire and Rescue the accident caused significant damage.

The crash happened shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday at 3550 S.W. HK Dodgen Loop at the Riverwood at Chappell Hill Apartments.

When emergency responders arrived they say they found a five-foot by nine-foot opening in the bedroom wall.

The driver was able to back out of the apartment.

According to fire officials he was not injured.

Five people in the downstairs apartment were displaced.

One person upstairs was not.
