WACO (October 11, 2013)--Waco firefighters were battling a house fire Friday afternoon in and confirmed that the handicapped resident was able to escape from the burning structure.
Firefighters were sent at around 2:25 p.m. to the house at 6107 Caldwell after a caller reported seeing smoke and flames.
Flames had engulfed the front of the house by the time the first firefighters arrived.
An assistant Waco fire chief said the elderly resident was found safe in the backyard of the home.
The man didn’t require medical treatment.
