HURST (March 16, 2014) A Hurst police officer man who struck another officer with his minivan, authorities said.
The officer received a minor injury and the man who was shot was expected to live, police said.
The officers responded to a report of an intoxicated person at an apartment complex when the 27-year-old man tried to drive away in his minivan.
The officer, who was standing in the van’s doorway, received a minor arm abrasion.
The man then drove the minivan toward a second officer, who opened fire.
The man was hit once in the upper body.
He was taken to an area hospital.
His injuries weren’t life threatening, police said.
