AMARILLO (December 23, 2013) Police in Amarillo didn’t have too much trouble tracking down a suspect in a car break-in; they just followed the footprints in the snow.
Collin Thomas Ferguson was held Monday on four burglary counts and a charge of possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Bond for the Bloomfield, N.M., man, was set at $6,000, online records showed.
Officers responded to the vehicle burglary Sunday morning after a man who was leaving for work spotted someone in his parked car.
The would-be burglar ran, returned to get his cellphone, and then ran again, police said.
Officers followed footprints in the snow and found Ferguson hiding in another parked vehicle.
He’s charged in connection with two vehicle break-ins and the burglary of a building.
He was also charged after marijuana was recovered following his arrest, police said.
