SAN ANTONIO (October 24, 2012)--Two Texas soldiers who once dated, one of whom is now assigned to Fort Hood, were facing child pornography charges Wednesday in the recorded molestation of a 3-year-old boy.
Investigators in San Antonio say Sgt. Wade Allen Perkins and Sgt. Kimberly Epperson will appear at a detention hearing on Thursday.
They were both were arrested Tuesday as part of an investigation involving the military, local officials and the FBI.
The abuse allegedly happened while the soldiers were at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.
A criminal complaint says images of the abuse of the boy and other activities were as part of the couple's sexual activity.
Both soldiers are charged with production of child pornography.
Investigators say Perkins, who’s now stationed at Fort Hood, has since married someone else.
The boy has been placed in protective custody.
