Fort Hood Soldier Recovering After Single Car Accident

By: Chris Shadrock Email

KILLEEN (August 12, 2012) -- A Fort Hood Soldier is recovering at Carl R. Darnall Medical Center after a single car accident Sunday afternoon.

Killeen Police say the 21-year old man was traveling west on Business 190 near the intersection of Dogwood Blvd when he lost control of his car.

Speed is believed to have been a factor.

After the driver lost control, the car hit a tree, a pole, and spun on its side before coming to rest in the middle of Dogwood Boulevard in front the Domino's Pizza.

Traffic on Dogwood Boulevard was shut down and east bound Business 190 was reduced to one lane for a time while first responders cleaned up the scene.

The man was talking to rescue crews on the scene before he was taken by ambulance to the hospital with minor cuts and is expected to be OK.
