Friend Charged After 2 Texas Teens Die Of Drug Overdoses

GRAPEVINE (January 7, 2013)—A North Texas man was charged with failing to help two teenage friends who died of drug and alcohol overdoses at his home.

Grapevine police Sgt. Robert Eberling says Cullen Marino, 22, was charged with two counts of criminally negligent homicide.

He was held Monday in the Grapevine City Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Counselors were available Monday at Southlake Carroll Senior High School after the deaths of Kyle McNutt, 17, and 1 Chase Nunez, 18.

Police think the two Grapevine teenagers lost consciousness after using drugs and alcohol Friday night with Marino, who allegedly then put them in a bedroom after finding them unresponsive.

Marino's father called 911 after he found the victims Saturday.

The teenagers were dead when paramedics arrived.

Toxicology results are pending.
