HILL COUNTY (August 28, 2014) Dallas Wayne Waddell, 49, who was included on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, was in the Harris County Jail Thursday after his arrest on Aug. 21 in Mexico on a warrant issued in Hill County.

A reward of as much as $3,000 will be paid for the tip that led to the arrest, the Department of Public Safety said Thursday.

Based on the tip, state authorities and the U.S. Marshals Service coordinated with federal authorities in Mexico to track Waddell to the city of Guadalupe Victoria where he was arrested without incident, the DPS said.

Waddell, who was added to the state’s Most-Wanted Sex Offenders list in March 2011, had been a fugitive since 2005.

He was last seen in Whitney where he was registered as a sex offender.

He’s a ninth grade dropout who has worked as a boilermaker, pipe fitter and laborer.

His criminal history includes a 1987 arrest for aggravated sexual assault and a subsequent guilty plea to sexual assault of a child in a case involving a 13-year-old girl in Hamilton County.

Waddell also was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Harris County in 1989 and has other convictions for drugs, theft and DWI.

Waddell was wanted for burglary of a habitation in Hill County and for a parole violation for not registering as a sex offender.
