HARRISBURG, Pa. (April 21, 2014) Joseph Lewis Miller, 78, an ex-convict wanted in connection with a murder in 1981 in Pennsylvania, was in custody Monday after he was found living under an alias and serving as a church deacon in Texas, U.S. marshals said.
It wasn’t clear Monday what led authorities to the man, living under the name of Roy Eubanks in Mineola, but in a statement, the marshals said he admitted he’s Miller.
He’s charged in a shooting in a parking lot in January 1981 next to a hotel in Harrisburg, Pa., that left another man dead.
Marshals say he served 11½ years in prison for another murder and was released in 1971.
Miller was held Monday in the Wood County Jail.
