TEMPLE (July 26, 2012)—A business, a duplex and a house were evacuated late Thursday morning after a construction crew hit a 6-inch natural gas line in a Temple neighborhood.

The break was reported at around 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of South 35th Street and Avenue D.

Three people complaining of headaches from leaking natural gas were treated at the scene.

A section of West Avenue D from South 33rd Street to Interstate 35 was blocked while an Atmos crew made repairs, which were completed by around 1 p.m. Thursday.
