DALLAS (September 1, 2014) Angel Lizandro Sanches-Zenteno, 17, was jailed Monday, charged with capital murder in the death of his 5-year-old cousin whose body was found in a vacant apartment in Dallas.
Officers found the girl’s body several hours after her family reported her missing Sunday.
Kathrine Alejandra Gonzalez was strangled, according to an initial ruling from a medical examiner.
Gonzalez was reported missing by her aunt, who last saw her at around 11:30 a.m. Sunday while the girl was playing outside with her siblings.
They were being watched by her uncle at the apartment complex while their parents worked.
Sanches-Zenteno's apartment was next door to the one where her body was found.
