Group Of Texas Workers Claims $21 Million Texas Lottery Prize

AUSTIN (May 19, 2012)--A group of 10 coworkers from Bell Helicopter in Fort Worth turned in their winning ticket on Friday at the Texas Lottery office in Austin and claimed last weekend’s $21 million Lotto Texas jackpot.

Each of the 10 will get $1.6 million after taxes.

Mario Mercado, one of the winners, said the group, which chartered a bus to go to Austin, has been pooling its money since January.

Each person put in $5 per week.

Mercado said after he realized the group had hit the jackpot he started screaming so much that his wife thought their home was on fire.

Mercado says he knows he has to be smart about spending the money and has enlisted the help of a financial advisor.
