DALLAS (March 25, 2014) Shots were fired Tuesday inside an apartment at a complex in downtown Dallas, leading to street closures in the Victory Park area and lockdowns at such major attractions as the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the AT&T Performing Arts Center, the W Hotel and the Dallas World Aquarium.

Local media reports indicate that a man barricaded himself inside an apartment at the complex because of an eviction order.

Other residents of the Vista Apartments were warned to stay indoors as the man held officers at bay for about three hours.

The standoff ended after officers used flashbangs, which are explosive distraction devices.

Officers responded to the complex at around 10 a.m.

The man was in custody by around 1 p.m.
