BEAUMONT (October 27, 2013) Four people were shot early Sunday in Beaumont by a man who fled after he was confronted by a homeowner whose home had been ransacked, police said.
None of the four victims appeared to have suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
They were taken to hospital.
Police are searching for the gunman.
Police say the homeowner man returned home shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday and discovered the break-in.
He was on the phone with police when he spotted a suspicious man in the next block and confronted him.
The man opened fire into a nearby crowd along a road, and then ran.
Officers found two of the shooting victims on the road, one in a ditch and the other at a nearby residence.
