Hatchet Attack At Texas Walmart Leaves 3 Injured

MARSHALL (December 9, 2013) Three people were wounded in a hatchet attack at a Walmart store in Marshall and a transient was in custody, charged with assault, police said Monday.

Two women who worked at the store and a man who was shopping there were injured in the attack and one of the women remained in the hospital Monday, police said.

Detective Sonya Johnson says police are seeking a motive for Sunday morning's attack.

Christopher Hamilton of Crawford, Ark., had the hatchet with him when he entered the store and didn’t know the victims, Johnson said

Their names of the three and information about their injuries and their conditions weren't released.

Harrison County Jail records show Hamilton was held Monday charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

His bonds total $225,000.

He was captured in a nearby wooded area after the attack.
