FALLS COUNTY (March 5, 2014) Authorities late Wednesday afternoon identified the man who died Tuesday night in a head-on crash on a rural road in Falls County as Dilsher Singh, 22.
Singh, who was a native of India, had been working in Groesbeck after coming to Central Texas from Virginia, authorities said.
The accident happened at around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday on FM 147, about three miles east of FM 1240.
Singh was driving a 2002 Toyota pickup truck west on Farm to Market Road 147 when for an unknown reason he crossed the center line, Department of Public Safety Trooper D.L. Wilson said.
The pickup struck an eastbound 2008 Cadillac DeVille driven by Allen Blacknall, 62, of Marlin.
Blacknall was taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco where he remained in stable condition Wednesday after suffering broken bones and other injuries, Wilson said.
Singh died at the scene.
An autopsy was ordered.
