KILLEEN (March 4, 2013)--A high-speed car chase following a hit-and-run accident ended at around noon Monday in a residential neighborhood near downtown Killeen.
A woman who jumped from the fleeing car during the chase was injured.
Killeen police said a red Chrysler and a PT Cruiser were involved in an accident at 10th Street and Veteran's Memorial Boulevard, after which the driver of the Chrysler fled south on 10th Steet.
Police chased the fleeing driver and during the pursuit the woman, who was a passenger in the car, jumped from the vehicle, striking her head.
She declined medical treatment.
The Chrysler’s driver continued to try to elude officers, and turned west on Bryce Street where he stopped.
He and another man jumped from the car and ran.
Police used a stun gun to subdue the driver, who was arrested, but the other man managed to get away.
The driver of the PT Cruiser was not hurt, police said, but a passenger who was named in an outstanding warrant was arrested.
Bryce Street was shut down while officers investigated.
