HOUSTON (August 13, 2014) A woman who was driving a stolen car died in a crash near George Bush Intercontinental Airport after a high-speed chase Tuesday night in the Houston area, authorities said.
The chase started Tuesday night at a motel along Interstate 45 after the driver refused to pull over, Harris County sheriff’s deputies say.
They say the chase lasted almost 30 minutes and wound down several roads and freeways.
There was one passenger in the car.
Houston police say the chase ended when the woman drove through a red light and the car hit a truck.
The woman and her male passenger were both thrown from the car.
They were taken to the hospital, where she later died.
It's unclear what happened to the truck driver.
Authorities haven't released the names of the woman or passenger.
