BRYAN (November 19, 2010)—A Brazos County Grand Jury has indicted a homeless man who is accused of killing a College Station woman who refused to let him stay at her home.

Stanley Lamar Griffin, 45, is charged with the Sept. 20 murder of Jennifer Hailey, 29, who’s body was found inside her College Station home.

He also is charged with stabbing Hailey’s 9-year-old son multiple times in the neck.

Griffin was in the Brazos County Detention Center on Friday on charges of capital murder and injury to a child with serious bodily injury.

Griffin’s bond was set at $1.25 million.

Griffin was arrested just hours after Hailey’s body was discovered.

Police say the wounded boy was able to call his grandmother
to say a man killed his mother and "choked" him.

A friend of the slain woman told police that Griffin was homeless and previously asked Hailey if he could move in with her but she refused.
