LONGVIEW (February 26, 2014) A house fire in Longview that left six people hurt, two of them critically, started in the living room, but investigators are still trying to determine the cause, Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary said.
The fire destroyed the two-story home.
A 41-year-old woman and a 2-month-old boy suffered critical burns and were taken to Dallas hospitals, he said.
Three other people were treated and later released from a Longview hospital, and a 21-year-old woman, who's the mother of the injured infant, remained hospitalized for observation.
Zackary says four people escaped through an upstairs window, made their way to the roof and then managed to reach the ground.
Zackary didn't immediately release names of the individuals or further details on their relationships.
Two dogs died in the house fire.
