Rusty Garrett here with the weekend outlook: Saturday, rain stays with us, but should taper off by Sunday, the drier of the two days.
WINONA (April 8, 2013)—Smith County’s fire marshal was investigating Monday after three children younger than 9 died in a house fire in Winona.
The three boys ages 4, 6 and 9 died after a fire broke out in their small house early Sunday, Winona Police Chief Bryan Richards said.
An 8-year-old boy and two adults were hospitalized for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation, he said.
Four other children in the house at the time weren't injured, he said.
Richards says authorities believe the two hospitalized adults are the parents of one of the deceased boys, but it's unclear what the other family relationships are.
