House Fire Report Leads To Discovery Of Pot-Growing Operation

HOUSTON (June 7, 2013)—First responders dispatched to a possible fire didn’t find a blaze, but did discover about 1,000 marijuana plants with a street value of more than $4 million.

No arrests have been made in the investigation of the marijuana-growing operation at a rented house, Harris County authorities said.

A neighbor reported a possible fire and possible gunfire Wednesday night at the home.

The first responders discovered marijuana plants growing throughout the house, including the garage.

Nobody was home.

Investigators are trying to track down more information about the residence in northwest Harris County.
