WACO (December 2, 2013) One person was taken to a local hospital Monday morning after a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 35 near Baylor.

Firefighters had to cut the victim from the wreckage of a car.

The accident involving a Toyota Corolla and a Ford F-150 pickup happened just after 6:45 a.m. Monday at University Parks Drive and the I-35 access road after one of the drivers ran a red light, police said.

A passenger had to be cut out of the Corolla, but the drivers of the car and the pickup weren’t injured, police said.

Traffic around the crash was diverted into adjacent lanes while crews cleaned up the debris left in the roadway.

The two people who were riding in the car are workers at the site of the construction of the new Baylor football stadium.
