I-35 Traffic Stop Leads To Discovery Of Nearly $1 Million Worth Of Cocaine

TEMPLE (November 9, 2012)—Maria Isabel Sanchez, 42, of Eagle Pass, was in custody Friday after a Temple police officer made a traffic stop on Interstate 35 that led to the discovery of 10 kilograms of cocaine valued at $985,000.

The Temple officer, who wasn’t identified Friday, pulled Sanchez over at around 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the 5300 block of South Interstate 35.

Agents from the Temple Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit found the cocaine concealed inside the vehicle.

Sanchez was in federal custody Friday in Waco.
