(June 23, 2014) Heavy rain fell again Monday in Central Texas after torrential showers Sunday in parts of the region produced heavy runoff and flooding.
The heaviest rain so far has fallen in the Waco area and in parts of Hill County.
As of 7 a.m. Monday, 4.29 inches of rain had fallen at Waco Regional Airport and 4.36 of rain was recorded at a station southwest of Gholson.
In Hill County, 2.15 inches had fallen at a station south-southeast of Carl’s Corner and nearly 1.5 inches had fallen south of Aquilla.
Nearly 3 inches had fallen in the Crawford area, where runoff produced flooding Sunday.
Crawford firefighters were sent to Highway 185 and Tonk Creek Lane early Sunday afternoon in response to a report of high water and the area was closed to traffic until the level receded.
Rain remains a possibility through Thursday.
