Investigation Of Area Cocaine Distribution Leads To Arrest

A local man was jailed Friday, named in a federal complaint stemming from an investigation of cocaine distribution in the area.

BELL COUNTY (April 18, 2014) Quentin Lavelle Jeffries, 34, of Temple, was in the Bell County Jail Friday, named in a federal complaint stemming from an investigation of cocaine distribution in both the Temple and Killeen areas, authorities said Friday.

Members of the Bell County Organized Crime Unit arrested Jeffries at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Nolanville.

Investigators seized crack and powder cocaine with a street value of more than $10,000 as well as a handgun and a large amount of cash, the unit’s commander, Jerry Dugger, said in a press release Friday.

Jeffries is awaiting an appearance before a U.S. magistrate in Waco, authorities said.
