BELL COUNTY (March 24, 2014) Bell County sheriff's investigators said Monday an arrest could be made soon in the death of a woman whose body was found in a field.

The badly decomposed body of Angie Leigh Rogers, 23, of Killeen was found on Aug. 4, 2013 in a field south of Chaparral Road and West Trimmier Road south of Killeen.

Her death was ruled a homicide and has been investigated as a murder.

Investigators said during a press conference Monday that they have gotten several new leads in the case and hope to make an arrest soon.

"We're putting together physical evidence that was gathered at the scene along with the testimony from some of the witnesses that have been involved with that and we anticipate that within hopefully this week, if not this week then next week, that we will come to a conclusion in that case too," Bell County Sheriff Eddy Lange said during a news conference Monday.

Rogers was reported missing on July 27, the sheriff's department said.

She died of a gunshot wound, an autopsy showed.
