LEWISVILLE (June 16, 2014) Texas Parks and Wildlife search crews resumed their search Monday for a man who evidently drowned after jumping into Lake Lewisville to help his nephew during a Father’s Day outing Sunday.
The nephew, who wasn’t identified, couldn’t swim, but was wearing a lifejacket when he got into the lake from a boat to cool off Sunday.
The boat started to drift away, however, and the man’s uncle, who wasn’t wearing a life jacket, jumped in to help, went under, and never surfaced.
Searchers are using sonar equipment to try to find the man’s body.
