Rusty Garrett here with the weekend outlook: Cloudy and cool weather returns to Central Texas. Scattered rain chances are in the forecast for Saturday and the first half of Sunday!
SEABROOK (May 26, 2014) Over the past week, hundreds of thousands of dead fish have littered the Galveston Bay shoreline in the Kemah and Seabrook area along the Galveston and Harris county border.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says oxygen depletion is likely the reason for the fish kill.
The silver fish are shad, also known as skipjack. They swim in large schools and primarily serve as bait fish for other wildlife.
Such oxygen-related fish kills are not uncommon but leave behind a stench.
