Late-Night Shooting Sends One To Central Texas Hospital

HEARNE (July 22, 2012)--Hearne police confirm there was a shooting in Hearne Saturday night, but few details were immediately released.

At around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to report of a burglary in progress at a home in the 200 block of Hall Street.

When officers arrived they located a suspect, shots were fired and one person was injured.

The shooting victim was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses say Hearne Police and DPS troopers were on scene and blocked off traffic temporarily in the area of the shooting.

This incident is under investigation by The Texas Rangers.
