Late-Night Crash On Rural Texas Highway Leaves 4 Dead

ANSON (January 30, 2012)--Four people died in a two-vehicle crash after a driver failed to stop late Sunday night at a rural highway intersection in West Texas.

The accident happened at around 11 p.m. Sunday near Anson in Jones County, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sparky Dean said.

Dean said Stephanie Perkins, 25, of nearby Stamford drove through a stop sign on a farm road and her vehicle collided with a pickup truck that was traveling on U.S. Highway 180.

Three passengers in Perkins' vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Perkins was pronounced dead at an Abilene hospital.

The other victims, all from Anson, were Linda Galvan, 50, Jesus Gimaldo Mata, 40, and Joe D. Flores, 29.

Only Galvan was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the pickup wasn't injured.
