COPPERAS COVE (September 27, 2012)—Police continued to search Thursday afternoon for an armed man who robbed a Copperas Cove bank and they released surveillance photos that show the man for whom they’re looking.

Police described the man as armed and dangerous, and warned residents not to approach him if they see him.

The robbery was reported just before 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the Fort Hood National Bank at 210 Constitution Drive Suite B.

The robber, who was armed with a handgun, handed a note to the teller, a 29-year-old Copperas Cove woman who was not harmed in the holdup, and demanded money.

He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white passenger car, a surveillance photo of which police also released Thursday afternoon.

The robber was black, unshaven and wearing a dark colored ball cap, a dark or burnt orange T-shirt and blue jeans.

A short time after the robbery, officers stopped an SUV on West U.S. Highway 190, but after further investigation the driver was determined not to have been involved in the robbery and was released.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robber or the robbery to call Copperas Cove Crime Stoppers at (254) 547-1111.
