NOLANVILLE (October 12, 2012)--Nolanville City Council candidate Robert Lee Meeks, Jr. was in the Bell County Jail Friday charged with resisting arrest, search or transport and evading arrest or detention after an early-morning disturbance Thursday.

His bonds total $5,000.

The Bell County jail log also lists an offense-unknown charge for which no bond is listed.

A news release issued by Nolanville police Chief Gary L. Kent says Meeks was arrested just after 1 a.m. Thursday at an address in the 300 block of Nolan Ridge Drive.

Officers were sent to the area in response to a report of gunshots.

Police said neighbors told officers a man was fighting with his wife.

Kent said the incident still is under investigation and more charges may be pending.
