KILLEEN (October 16, 2013)--A Killeen woman was in custody Wednesday, facing charges in connection with a house fire early Tuesday investigators said was intentionally set.
Killeen Fire Marshal James Chisum confirmed Wednesday that fire marshals arrested the woman at the scene of the fire at 3802 Oak Valley.
The woman's name was withheld pending formal charges, Chisum said.
The case has been sent to the Bell County District Attorney's office for review, he said.
Killeen fire Investigator Corey Hall said his investigation showed the fire was incendiary in origin.
Hall said damage at the house was limited to one room, but said the rest of the house sustained significant heat and smoke damage.
When firefighters arrived at around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, they found smoke coming from the single-story home, Chisum said.
Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, but not before it did significant damage to the house.
