KILLEEN (July 16, 2013)—Trevis Akeem Miller, 29, of Killeen, was free on bond Tuesday after he was charged over the weekend in an incident in which a 3-year-old boy in his care was beaten with a belt.
Miller posted a $100,000 bond Monday and was released from custody.
He was charged with injury to a child.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the boy and some other children were left with a man last Thursday at a home in the 1300 block of Quail Circle in Killeen while their mothers went shopping.
While the two women were gone, the caregiver texted one of them saying the children were unruly and he was unable to control them.
The injured child's mother dropped the other woman off at the Quail Circle address and a short time later that woman called the child's mother to come pick the boy up.
When the mother arrived she found the boy and discovered his injuries.
She him to a Killeen fire station where firefighters called police.
According to the affidavit a police investigator noted injuries to the boy's arms, stomach, shoulders, back, legs and bottom.
