COLLEGE STATION (August 31, 2014) Adrian Verduzco, 21, of Waco, was in the Brazos County Jail Sunday charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault after what police said was an early-morning knife attack at the Lofts apartments in College Station.

His bond was set at $15,000.

Grant Alan Northcutt, 21, of Tomball, was also arrested in connection with the incident and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers responded at around 1:20 a.m. Sunday to the complex, where that a man involved in an argument earlier with residents of one of the apartments returned with several friends with the intention of attacking the residents.

As the man tried to get in to the apartment, one of the residents stepped outside and tried to calm him down, but the man tried to push past the resident and a struggle started.

During the struggle, police said, a second man pulled out a kitchen knife and began to attack the resident, police said.

The resident used the first man with whom he was struggling as a sort of shield to deflect the attack and both of the suspects fled when they realized police had been called, authorities said.

Verduzco and Northcutt were arrested in the apartment’s parking garage.

The knife was recovered, police said.
