WACO (November 20, 2012)--A Waco man was in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday after his arrest in connection with a violent assault at a West Waco home.

Ronny Standifer, 50, was ordered held on bonds totaling $30,000 charged with aggravated assault and on a parole violation without bond, jail records showed.

Standifer was charged in connection with a violent assault on Cynthia Powell, 57, that happened Nov. 15 at her home in the 10000 block of Hiawatha.

Officers responded to a disturbance call at that address and when they arrived they found Powell suffering from what Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton described as significant injuries.

Powell was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center by ambulance.
