WACO (September 25, 2012)--A Waco man held Tuesday in the McLennan County Jail charged in connection with the sexual assault of two children younger than 10, one a boy and the other a girl.
Matthew Lane Ruston, 21, was ordered held on bonds totaling $60,000.
He’s charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said officers were sent to a south Waco residence in January after two young girls told their mother they were sexually assaulted over a period of more than a month during the summer of 2011.
The initial investigation led to a forensic interview at the Children's Advocacy Center, in Waco, after which detectives identified a suspect in the assaults and obtained arrest warrants.
The incidents happened between June 1 and July 21, 2011, in a drainage tunnel near a residence in South Waco.
