COPPERAS COVE (January 3, 2012) -- A Central Texas man was in the Coryell County Jail Thursday, charged in connection with a residential burglary in Copperas Cove in which a wedding ring worth more than $25,000 was taken.

Rodney Bruce James, Jr. was held Thursday in lieu of bonds totaling $25,000.

The woman to whom the ring belonged told investigators she learned in a conversation with James that the ring was pawned at a pawnshop in Killeen, which is where Copperas Cove investigators found it on Dec. 29, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The transaction ticket number led them to James, the affidavit said.

Other rings, necklaces, power tools and a watch worth a total of more than $1,000 were also taken in the burglary, which occurred sometime between Dec. 15 and Dec. 21 at the home in the 2400 block of Jake Drive.

The burglary was reported on Dec. 21.
