Local Man Pleads Guilty In Shotgun Slaying Of Woman With Whom He Lived

CAMERON (March 19, 2013)—Stephen Lenard Daniell, 47, of Rockdale has pleaded guilty to murder in the May 2012 shotgun slaying of Shelia Owens, 49, with whom he was living, prosecutors said Tuesday.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 29.

Daniell, who’s not eligible for probation, could be sentenced to as much as life in prison, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Daniell reported the shooting, which happened on May 6, 2012.

Officers found Owens dead of a single shotgun blast to the head in the driveway of the home she and Daniell shared at 804 North Wilcox St. in Rockdale.
