Local Police Officer Arrested For Deadly Conduct

KILLEEN (December 31, 2012)—A Temple police officer was arrested last week after Killeen police say he held a weapon on another man.

Louis Tolliver, 38, turned himself into Killeen police last week in connection with an incident that happened December 14, according to Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith.

Smith said Toliver was charged with deadly conduct, but Bell County Jail supervisor Chuck Cox said Toliver has not been booked into the Bell County Jail.

A spokesman for the Temple Police Department said Toliver has been placed on administrative leave.

State law indicates depending upon the details of the incident, the deadly conduct charge could be filed as either a misdemeanor or a 3rd degree Felony.
