KILLEEN (October 7, 2013)—Power outages Monday in Killeen left more than 22,000 customers in the dark and snarled traffic at busy intersections where signals stopped working.
According to Oncor’s online outage site, nine separate outages were reported.
City spokeswoman Hillary Shine said power was out throughout downtown and northeast to the city limits.
Traffic signals downtown were inoperable and many businesses along Veteran's Memorial Boulevard were dark, including City Hall.
The site did not identify a cause.
Oncor originally estimated it could take until 9 p.m. Monday to restore service, but by mid-afternoon, the website was showing no outages in the Killeen area.
