WACO (August 19, 2013)--A Waco man was held Monday in the McLennan County Jail charged in the abduction of his former girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter.
Jonathan Andrew Sotomayor, 18, was ordered held on bonds totaling $45,000, charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, kidnapping and assault family violence.
The charges stem from an incident at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at a residence in the 800 block of Ewing Street where a woman told officers a man broke into her home, assaulted her and then took her daughter.
The woman said the man was her former boyfriend.
Officers found the man and the girl several hours later in the 2200 block of Bosque Boulevard.
They arrested Sotomayor without incident.
The child was returned to her mother unharmed, police said.
