COPPERAS COVE (February 26, 2013)—Brenda Lee Fies, 32, was free on a $22,000 personal recognizance bond Tuesday charged in connection with a disturbance after which officers found a loaded .22 caliber rifle hidden under her 9-year-old daughter’s bed.

Fies was arrested after Copperas Cove officers responded to the disturbance just after 9:15 p.m. Monday at 710 South 11th Street.

A man told officers he and his wife had argued and that she and the couple’s daughter were locked inside the home in which firearms were present, police said.

The woman eventually allowed officers inside the house where they found the rifle hidden beneath the mattress on the girl’s bed, police said.
